Beat work overload and achieve more.
Time is our most valuable resource, but taking control of it and staying organized can be a challenge. We’ve put together a list of the most useful time management and productivity tools to help you work smarter and meet your goals.
Toggl is a popular choice for time tracking, and for good reason.
It’s quick and easy to get started. Press the Play button, give your task a name and start working. Once you’re done, stop the timer and Toggl will automatically store your task and the time you spent working on it.
Reports are sleek and easy to follow, and help you stay accountable for the time spent on specific tasks. It also makes it easy to identify time spent that isn’t delivering a return.
Toggl is adaptable – there’s an app and a desktop site, so you can use it anywhere for anything you want to keep track of. It also has great integration options – you can connect it with over 85 other tools.
StayFocusd is a Google Chrome extension that lets you block certain sites from your browser after a fixed period of time. Enable the extension, add your biggest time-wasting sites to your blocked list and set the maximum time per day you can spend on them. After the timer is up, StayFocusd blocks you from the site, and forces you to get on with whatever it is you’re supposed to be doing.
We recently started using Zapier for some of our email list automation. It’s robust – you can connect all your favourite web apps to one another for automation you never thought of. The possibilities are (almost) endless – click here to check out a few of their examples.
Whatever your job function, Zapier helps you get the most out of your most frequently used apps. Zapier deals with repetitive tasks and allows you to focus on your other priorities. So, by automating your tasks, you can get more done in less time.
Noisli helps you block out annoying noises, focus your attention and increase productivity.
The idea is to combine different sounds together in order to create your perfect work environment. There are loads of options to choose from, including the typical wind, rain and sea sounds, but there’s also the option to listen to white noise if you’d prefer.
Noisli is simple, flexible and visually appealing. It’s great to use when you need to buckle down, distraction-free and really get on with things.
Finally, it would be remiss if we didn’t include a nod to Xpo Task on this list, wouldn’t it?
Xpo Task is a powerful time management tool that helps you log, monitor and track your progress as you work through your to do list. It makes collaboration simple too, with delegation features for assigning projects to your team members.
We developed Xpo Task with the Eisenhower Matrix in mind, to help professionals to be more effective and efficient.
The Eisenhower Matrix, also referred to as Urgent-Important Matrix, helps you decide on and prioritise tasks by urgency and importance, sorting out less urgent and important tasks which you should either delegate or not do at all.” – Source
Xpo Task automatically prioritises your to-do list based on urgency and importance. It minimises time stressors and helps you focus and deliver tasks that are urgent, whilst you’re working towards long-term goals. Try it today!
Each of these tools serves a different purpose, but they’re all great choices if you’re on the lookout for time management and productivity tools. Better still, we’ve found them easy to assimilate into our every day routines.
